Here’s a small sampling of some of the doubling James has done. 

You’ll first hear the celebrity then you’ll hear James.

A little Hollywood secret is “Voice-Doubling” and it’s done by a pretty small group of voice-actors.  So what is it?  Well, basically when a celebrity isn’t available for whatever reason (and there can be many) the studios will hire someone like myself to “do” their voice for whatever the project might be.  For example, there are video game versions of films, toys, featurettes, or they just want to clean up language for the TV versions or airplane showings of movies.  Also, doubling comes into play with animation.  Say a movie gets turned into a TV series and the actor isn’t interested or available.  Or a studio is in pre-production on an animated film and they know they want a certain actor for a part, but don’t want to have to pay big bucks for them to come in and do the “scratch” dialogue for the storyboards and animatics.  Another big area of doubling is in movie trailers.  If the trailer has a line or two that is critical to the trailer itself, but not to the film and they don’t have a clean sound track, or it may be spliced together from various parts of the film, they would hire someone like me to re-voice the line into one clear piece of dialogue.  I know it sounds confusing, but it’s really not.  On this page you will find some examples of “Voice-Doubling” that I have done for various actors.  To keep it simple, these are mainly line-by-line comparisons.  In other words, you’ll first hear the real voice then you’ll hear my version of the voice.  This is one of my specialties and I work very hard at getting the voices right, so I hope you enjoy the examples.
